Wiring Instructions for Isolation Filter    

In practical power line carrier applications, significant loads such as voltage stabilizers, frequency converters, servo systems, high-power motors, large-capacity capacitors, and UPS units are commonly installed on power lines. These loads exhibit pronounced absorption effects on high-frequency signals in broadband power line carriers. To prevent performance degradation of power line carriers, it is strongly recommended to install dedicated isolation filters on power lines to block interference from load sources, thereby achieving optimal communication performance for power line carrier systems.

Wiring method for isolation filter:

1.Power supply side: The input (LINE) of the isolation filter on the power supply side is connected to the power input, while its output (LOAD) is linked to the output (LOAD) of the isolation filter on the load side. A broadband carrier is connected in parallel to the output (LOAD) of the isolation filter.

2.Load side: The output (LOAD) of the isolation filter on the load side is connected to the power supply input, while its input (LINE) is linked to the load equipment. A broadband carrier is connected in parallel to the output (LOAD) of the isolation filter.

Matters need attention :

1. The isolation filter is a dedicated power supply isolation filter designed for use with power line carriers. Never substitute commercial power filters for the dedicated isolation filters intended for power line carriers.

2. When installing isolation filters, the installation direction must be carefully distinguished. For power supply-side filters, the current flows from input to output, whereas for load-side filters, it flows from output to input. It is particularly important to note that the installation direction of load-side filters is the reverse of that for power supply-side filters.

3. The isolation filter is connected in series on the power line, while the broadband carrier is connected in parallel to the power line at the output end of the isolation filter. Isolation filters must not be installed on the power lines between different broadband carriers within the same network.

4. The isolation filter should be installed as close as possible to both the power supply side and the load side to effectively filter out electromagnetic interference that intrudes along power lin es and radiates outward.

5. The input and output lines of the isolation filter should maintain a proper distance between them. Avoid parallel or crossed wiring to prevent degradation of filtering performance.

6. The ground wire of the isolation filter must not be left in a floating state; it should be connected to either a ground wire or the metal enclosure of the electrical box, with the shortest possible length being preferable.

7. All loads on the power carrier circuit must be equipped with isolation filters to ensure broadband carrier communication operates on clean power lines.

8. Risk of electric shock: Do not operate under live conditions! The isolation filter is equipped with energy storage components, and voltage hazards remain within 10 seconds after power interruption. Do not directly touch terminal connections immediately after power disconnection.
